LIMITLESS is more than a gala. LIMITLESS is a word that empowers people to realize that anything is possible, no matter what obstacles or challenges they are faced with. 750 guests gathered at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel to meet, converse with, raise money and celebrate Canada’s Special Olympic athletes.

The event began with a cocktail and canapé reception where guests were able to mingle with Special Olympic athletes as well as some of Canada’s top professional and amateur athletes. The attendees had the opportunity to take photos with Canada’s sports trophies, including the Stanley Cup and the Grey Cup while they listened to a talented local jazz trio and began bidding on a wireless silent auction system. As the event’s main sponsor, Coca-Cola set up “The Perfect Pour” where bartenders in white and red striped bow ties poured the perfect glass of coke for the guests. The athletes and celebrity ambassadors were interviewed by two of TSN’s top sports broadcasters; Jennifer Hedger and Rob Black.

Once dinner concluded, the guests participated in a live auction and a “Draft an Athlete” experience. The “Draft an Athlete” focused on the goal of sending 135 athletes for $1,500 each to the 2015 Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles – as guests selected their drafts, the goal was accomplished! As dinner and the auctions came to a close, the guests were invited to join the sports-inspired After Party. This part of the event was a fun-filled networking experience with dueling piano acts and the option to dance the night away with a local celebrity DJ!

The LIMITLESS Gala paid tribute to the athletes, and the focus was on how the Gala made each person feel. After hearing the stories of overcoming, each guest was lit up with inspiration. Their spirits continued to be “lit” up as a flying LED ball made its way through the air and into the hands of each athlete. 135 participants touched it and were “drafted” into the 2015 Special Olympic World Games that will occur in Los Angeles.
