TIFF Gala wins Esprit Award for Best Entertainment Production

Toronto, ON – On Saturday August 24th on Paradise Island in the Bahamas, e=mc² events was awarded its 7th International Special Events Society Esprit Award. The Toronto International Film Festival Inaugural Gala, “The Night That Never Ends,” won Best Entertainment Production (Budget over $75,000). We won this award alongside Bravo! Entertainment out of Dallas Texas who partnered with us to create entertainment that was truly spectacular. The Toronto International Film Festival goal is to transform the way people see the world through film. We proudly provided an experience that transformed the way people see live events, through film – a Bond film.

Entertainment played a huge role in the overall success of this event and included: “secret agent” stunt parkour artists, a live-action helicopter/sea-do stunt “call to dinner,” award-winning entertainers including Chantel Kreviazuk, Glee’s Darren Criss and Gordon Lightfoot, and finally, a spectacular underwater missile and fireworks display choreographed to the Bond theme played live by a 10-piece band.

We are thrilled to be producing this stellar event again this year and the 2013 Gala is set to be another fabulous occasion. The second annual TIFF Gala Fundraiser on Saturday September 7th, 2013 in Toronto will celebrate 100 years of Indian Cinema. At this year’s Gala we are working directly with one of Canada’s Academy Award nominated film directors, Deepa Mehta, who was recently appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada and is known for her Elements Trilogy – Fire, Earth and Water. Guests will be taken on a cultural journey through a century of Indian cinematic treasures while savouring a menu prepared by Vikram Vij on stage at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts. The 2013 TIFF Gala will transform the way we view Indian culture and cinema, while supporting TIFF’s vision of “leading the world in creative and cultural discovery through moving image.”

We thank our client, the Toronto International Film Festival, and our amazing team of event partners and friends that made the magic happen.
