The event took place over three days, with the goal to celebrate the centre and it's opening.
The first night was a high-end donor reception that focused on honouring and thanking the members of the community who supported the development of the Genesis Centre. Local cultural entertainment, heartfelt speeches, audiovisual displays, pyrotechnics, and beautiful décor awed and inspired guests.
The second day began with the official ribbon cutting ceremony. Three levels of government and the general public were invited to come to the centre to celebrate its official opening.
For the rest of the weekend the new centre was open to the general public. We created constant programming to enhance each individual space in the centre, and to attract and inform the public. The main lobby of the centre was transformed into a large community stage. Local entertainment acts performed on the stage every 30 minutes. Between acts, the stage was hosted by an interactive emcee, who was also a magician.
Guests left the event informed of the different spaces within the centre; how they could be used to their personal advantage; and how impactful the centre would be to the well being of the surrounding communities. Donors and stakeholders left feeling that the hard work they put into the development of the centre was worth it.
