Energy Disruptors is a catalyst for bold, game-changing solutions to the world's biggest energy challenges. The over-arching goal of the two-day UNITE summit is to create a centralized hub where the most progressive leaders in traditional energy can join forces with the influencers at the forefront of energy transformation. Energy Disruptors: UNITE is a high-impact experience designed to ignite action.

Our mandate for the second EDU Summit was to disrupt the experience from year one with the experience design focused on biomimicry. To do this we created a visual identity that was excitedly bright, optimistic and dynamic. A stark contrast from the dark, disruptive identity of the inaugural year.

The Experience

Over 1500 participants including over 200 VIPs united at The Big Four on Stampede Park to rally together to ignite a global movement.

Our creative strategy was based on the study of biomimicry, modelling materials, structures, and systems from the natural world. The entire experience was based on the "The Hive" concept including guest movement and overall space design. The Hive was a collective where disruptors would naturally collide and engage with progressive brands, together.

The Hive itself and the activations within it were designed as a collective of individual cells and the video content was customized and infused with natural elements and enhanced with local movement artist. Design props were sourced from discarded materials and sustainable sources. It was a gathering place for relaxed and informal discussions where guests could enjoy food, drink, and the delights of creative and thought provoking sponsor activations.

Speakers included Malcolm Gladwell, the late Sir Ken Robinson and Dr. Vivienne Ming to name a few.
