Activity Selection

Selections are based on capacities - you will select your top three choices.

Selections will be confirmed the week of December 4 [weather permitting]

Showshoeing

Embrace winter by walking across the thick snowpack instead of through it. While we journey, we will share the history of the Kananaskis Valley.

In the serenity of our snow-covered forests, you’ll learn how different species survive this harsh season.

  • 2 hours
  • Showshoes, cider and cookies included
  • Winter gear not included
  • This is a sweat level 2!
  • Waivers required

Dog Sledding at Boundary Ranch

Based at beautiful Boundary Ranch deep in the Kananaskis Valley, our professional mushers will take you on a unique and personal dogsledding adventure

The tour begins with a brief instruction, then on to a meet and greet with the huskies and the opportunity to assist in preparing for the trip. Set off on your journey through the snow covered forest aboard the dogsled.

Stop to explore an authentic Teepee encampment while learning about the Aboriginal way of life and how dogsledding played an important role in Alberta’s History.

Next, rest beside a toasty campfire, sip some hot chocolate and roast up a marshmallow or two! Then, move onto the Buffalo Paddock to get a close up view and take photos of our resident Canadian Plains Bison herd.

The Trappers Cabin, just up the trail, offers some history of Kananaskis Valley and includes a display of artifacts from the days of trappers and prospectors.

Lastly, climb aboard your sled for the final leg of your trip back to Boundary Ranch.

  • 1.5 hours
  • This is a sweat level 2!
  • 350lbs weight limit per two people
  • Waivers, weight, height required

Sleigh Ride

Enjoy an old-fashioned horse drawn Sleigh ride cuddled up under a cozy blanket with your hot chocolate and be amazed at the winter oasis and snow covered forest along the beautiful trails surrounding Boundary Ranch.

A stop at the Buffalo viewing paddock for photos will give you a chance to enjoy Canada’s largest land animal from the comfort of the Sleigh. A turn around at the Teepee Village showcases some Local Native Heritage before heading back to the Ranch for a Marshmallow roast and a hot drink around the crackling bonfire.

  • 30 - 45 minutes
  • Blankets Included
  • Winter gear not included
  • You will not sweat during this activity!
  • Waivers required

Banff Town Site

Take a bus to the town of Banff for a half day of shopping and exploring.

  • 4-5 hours total
  • 2 hours exploring Banff
  • Transport included
  • You will not sweat during this activity!

Fat Biking

Head out on a Rocky Mountain Blizzard fat bike with 4.8″ wide tires, to visit a frozen waterfall! Experience a new way to play in the winter, silly smiles guaranteed.

This tour requires biking experience and an intermediate level of fitness.

  • 2 hours
  • Fat bike and helmet included
  • Winter gear not included
  • This is a sweat level 4!
  • Waivers required
