We were integral in planning Keyera's 20th celebration in 2018, which celebrated where they came from and featured a nostalgic “Taking Care of Business” 90s theme. This time around was no different, and we again spent time with our client, their leadership and teams, to deep dive into their objectives and goals. Two key notes that we discovered was that the company has a much younger demographic and are forward thinking in their 25th year. This knowledge allowed us to design a thoughtful and impactful custom event brand - Limitless. The branding played off of their brand colours and website visuals to create a digital key because it’s about unlocking the future - the future is limitless.
From there we took the event brand and integrated it into literally all aspects. No detail was too small; Everything was designed with the event brand in mind as we created four events in four very different locations with varying demographics.
The event in Calgary featured a 3-course progressive dine-around tour for 400 guests, at 11 different restaurants across 3 city blocks in just 3 hours. A fully branded take over of the city's core had each guest on their own individual three course dinner journey heading to a different restaurant for each course. No two guests were at the same restaurant for any course, thus ensuring that each course offered a completely new networking experience. To encourage even further networking opportunities and conversation starters, we designed placemats with prompts for each person to answer. Before the attendees left their destination, they would write a message or answer the question for the next diner. They could either leave it anonymous or sign their names, and it was a great way to further increase connectivity within the group. The last stop for all guests was an afterparty that featured a band, tarro-card readers and branded desserts inclding a giant 25 donut wall.
The field events in Drayton Valley, Grande Prairie, and Edmonton were family oriented with multiple games and activities to suit the daytime events. We designed a road show style format for consistency with the decor, audio, lighting, signage, equipment, games and activities. A mobile stage with custom branding also traveled from location to location, as the client asked for the same experience in vastly different spaces. Guest were treated to live music, face painting, caricature artists, lawn games, kids crafts, a candy and popcorn station, balloon garlands, and in some locations, an inflatable balloon house. Local caterers and food trucks provided delicious treats and some adult beverages.
Overall, our team strategized to create the best plan by utilizing both local and traveling vendors, consistent entertainment acts, and adaptive decor and site plans so each event had the same look and feel, uniting the company across the province. The events went smoothly, resulting in glowing feedback from attendees and C-level staff.
