The second annual NMC Out Loud Gala brought guests closer to the music, literally and figuratively – held at the Simmons Building, right down the street from the future home of the National Music Centre in the East Village. We brought closer to the music with a Rock Star hotel inspired design and entertainment literally bursting from every seam.
Throughout the historic Simmons Building & Riverwalk Plaza guests interacted with musically inspired experiences, from live performances around every corner to close up shots of musical instruments and an array of items from the NMC collections waiting to be played.
750 friends and supporters of the National Music Centre enjoyed cuisine from the local artisan Simmons vendors, custom cocktails and hand picked wines and danced into the early hours of the morning to everything from spoken word to celtic jams and vintage records, with the evening culminating in a live performance on the main stage by Canadian superstar Serena Ryder. The night was a historic first step into the East Village spotlight for the NMC, and the event raised 60% above their fundraising goal.
