Shaylene fell into the world of marketing and found a love for it that she didn’t know she had! Creative writing, catchy ads, social media management, and website design are where she thrives - but don’t just take our word for it, follow our social channels to see it all come to life! Shaylene is heavily involved in all of our internal and external communications and is an integral part of the Marketing & Communications team. By nature, she's very musical and always has music playing in the background [which most of the time, she sings along to].
Shaylene has a Bachelor’s degree in Professional Communications from MacEwan University and completed an internship with "e" while studying. After graduation, Shaylene started her career at an insurance brokerage where she made enough connections to branch out on her own as an independent contractor. Years later, Shaylene found her way back to us and we’re happy to have her as a member of the Marketing & Communications team. Over the years, Shaylene has worked with "e" in different capacities, including on-site as registration staff for
Art Fusion Holiday Celebration,
JUNO Opening Night Awards, and
Kiewit Stampede Event. She was also assistant script writer at the
JUNO Opening Night Award Gala 2023.
Shaylene creates our monthly external newsletter and she was a key player in launching e=mc² productions brand. She was also integral to the most recent update made to our website. Shaylene is our go-to writer for all things Marketing & Communications such as awards entries, team bios, blogs posts, press releases, ads and sponsorships, and more. She is well versed in creating branded documents and graphics and loves diving into a creative project.
In her free time, Shaylene spends every moment she can soaking in the joy of motherhood [both of the fur and human variety]. Her 85-pound dog, Peanut, and her ever-growing toddler, Jayden, keep her happily on her toes! You may have noticed that Shaylene shares a last name with our founder, Jocelyn, and that’s because she is her niece! Sometimes we refer to our team as a family, but in this case, it really is true!
