Afton Murray

Lovingly nicknamed “Crafty Afty” in the office, Afton is your go-to person when you need something artfully created. Afton first began working with “e” as an Event Coordinator, and has now moved up the ranks to her current position of Marketing and Experience Manager. She wears many hats and holds many different responsibilities including training new team members & contractors, working with the sales team crafting proposals, managing the marketing team, and you'll also see her working various projects on and off-site!

Should anyone ever require a choreographed dance routine or musical number, they’d be doubly in luck. Afton is a musical theatre junkie and trained dancer who still loves to stay connected to her oldest and dearest passion. But be warned, her enthusiasm cannot always be contained to the studio – she has been spotted busting a move in the produce aisle from time to time. 

Afton holds a Staging and Interior Re-Design Diploma, a Floral Certificate and an Event Management Certificate. She was a member and served on the boards of MPI: Greater Calgary Chapter and ILEA Calgary; she is well equipped to stage any size or style of event her clients might desire. She was named 2014's Event Planner of the Year through MPI: Greater Calgary Chapter and she was listed as one of 2017's 25 Young Event Pros to Watch through Special Events Magazine. Afton has also produced a number of award winning experiences with "e", including Vermilion Celebrate 20, WestJet IGNITE20, Energy Disruptors: Unite 2018 and 2019, JUNO Virtual Opening Night Awards Gala, Drive Thru Grad, and SoulMen 60.

Afton is seriously detail oriented, she has an eye for design and can visualize the flow of a room and the strategy on floor plan layout. She has a passion for choreographing stage shows in terms of timing and takes pride in her ability to draw and hold the attention of the guest to what matters. Afton loves working with hosts and scrip writers to ensure a great show and that all stakeholders are happy. Her attention to detail makes her an expert at working on branding and graphics for both internal and external projects.
