At e=mc² events there are no hurdles too high, roadblocks too gnarly or logistics too maddening to stop us from delivering experiences that matter for our clients. The events showcased here are just a splattering of the work we have done but show our breadth of creativity and innovation while also featuring our ability to be simply clever and purposeful in our approach to design, event management and event production.
What you won’t feel in these case studies is the fact that we are energy ninjas. We are experts in moving guests, through a space, through a poignant program [virtually or in person], through a dining experience – emotionally and thoughtfully. People can feel the difference when they attend an event designed and produced by “e”, this beyond being innovative, transparent and honourable is the thing that makes us most proud.

We were contracted to produce the Ducks Unlimited Calgary Dinner and Auction in 2015. We transformed the North Hall of the Calgary Telus Convention Centre into two separate spaces to make room for dining and reception areas.
Ducks Unlimited Canada has worked to restore, conserve, restore, and manage Canadian Wetlands for over 80 years. We were proud to partner with them for this fundraising event.
Energy Disruptors is a catalyst for bold, game-changing solutions to the world's biggest energy challenges. The over-arching goal of the two-day UNITE summit is to create a centralized hub where the most progressive leaders in traditional energy can join forces with the influencers at the forefront of energy transformation. Energy Disruptors: UNITE is a high-impact experience designed to ignite action.
Canada’s Walk of Fame (CWOF) celebrates Canadians who have excelled in their respective fields and inspire the next generation. To celebrate the current year’s inductees, an annual celebration is held which culminates in a televised special that celebrates the achievements of Canada’s finest stars.
In 2011, we produced Operation: Western Front, an innovative fundraising gala that successfully raised over $1.5 million net for Canadian military families. This event helped to spread awareness of military families, and reached a national, patriotic audience.
Our team endeavoured to create a live awards show that was not only engaging for audiences across Canada, but a meaningful experience for all the nominated artists. We took on the daunting task of coordinating the live announcement of 37 awards with over 185 artist nominees virtually.
2600 business leaders were given an experience like no other! Multiple desintations. designs and productions included over 90,000lbs of ice!
To showcase the endless travel and adventure possibilities of Vancouver and British Columbia to an audience of over 1,500 international leaders in the travel and destination management industry.
The National Music Centre was set to open in the summer of 2016 in Calgary, AB. The client’s objective with the Second Annual Out Loud Gala was to continue the conversation and support of the attendees in year one and grow the exposure of the new National Centre that would be coming to the City of Calgary.
We were excited to produce the bi-annual SingularityU Canada Summit in Edmonton in 2019. Their core message – that exponential change is taking place throughout the world and we all need to be involved in how we design the future.
For Transalta’s 100th Anniversary we designed and produced multiple events staged in multiple locations across Canada and the United States. All the events were created with consistent messaging and design to ensure each employee felt important and celebrated, one very important person that had an impact on the success of the company.

As they celebrated the newly renovated 50,000 Sq. Ft. RGO Office Furnishings showroom with employees, suppliers and clients our goal was to highlight the products featured throughout the space in an innovative and exciting way.
SoulMen60 was a 60th birthday celebration for 13 prominent business and philanthropic leaders and 1,800 of their closest friends and family.
To celebrate Kiewit’s clients, employees and their families during the famous Calgary Stampede we created The Kiewit Korral. This two day, two event project provided them the opportunity to host their clients and guests in an adult only evening extravaganza which was amortized and flipped to host employees and their families the following morning.
This three day virtual experience provided a space where colleagues were invited to actively engage and participate in one or more carefully curated 'new frontier journeys'.
The secret location of the SingularityU Canada Summit Reception was announced to all delegates via a live drone video feed during lunch at the Convention Centre. SU After Dark was proudly produced in EPCOR's decommissioned Rossdale Power Plant, which had been closed to the public for over 30 years.
We were responsible for creating an event to bring together the attendees of PCMA 2016 in Vancouver. The client’s goal was to encourage networking and creatively showcase the sponsors behind PCMA Convening Leaders 2016 while having a great time! We created a house party like no other.
Produce the inaugural fundraising gala for the Toronto International Film Festival and make it one of the most spectacular events ever seen in Toronto…while creating a lasting legacy. We enveloped guests in a unique cinematic experience, inspired by one of the most infamous movie series of all time, BOND. James Bond.
#DriveThruGrad2020YYC was a collaborative of event industry professionals, businesses and venues, rallying together to celebrate the Class of 2020. This was the class of 2020, not 2021, and definiely not the class of COVID-19.

The indigenous Tourism Alberta (ITA) Roadshow was a one-day summit that took place at two different venues available to tourism operators and Indigenous community leaders who wished to participate in a safe event with traditional performances and ceremonies during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Virgin Atlantic Airways (VAA), Sir Richard Branson’s billion-dollar brand, wowed guests with performances, celebrities and all things Virgin Atlantic during the Inaugural Flight Celebration May 2012 at Vancouver’s celebrated Commodore Ballroom.
This event was virtually out of this world! Nearly a decade ago, e=mc² events made history by successfully producing a virtual and hybrid event in space. The University of Calgary honoured Dr. Robert Thirsk with an Honorary Degree while he was living on the International Space Station and "e" was selected as the partner to make this a reality.
An evening of philanthropy, exclusivity, and a thousand stars of possibility, the VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation celebrated the 20th Anniversary of their platform fundraising event, the Night of a Thousand Stars Gala presented by TELUS.
Girl Power Hour is an annual fund and awareness raising luncheon that focusses on adolecent mental health. In 2020, more than ever, it was extremely important to educate, raise awareness, and raise funds for this vital issue. We created an accessible and easy to use virtual platform and program filled with educational content, increasing the reach to people who would not otherwise be able to attend this impactful event.
We excitedly partnered with the National Music Centre, yet to be opened in Calgary, on it’s inaugural fundraising gala in 2014. We were tasked with creating an experience for guests that gave them a taste of what walking through the galleries of the National Music Centre will feel like, and to inspire guests to see, hear, feel, and taste music in new ways.
For this holiday party, we were tasked with creating an “out of the box” reception style event in a massive space and design it to feel like two distinct spaces, no division, no drape lines…to feel like one big employee event.
ThoughtWorks' ParadigmShift provided an opportunity for the companies global executive team to showcase its brand and build relationships with C-level clients from places like South America, Asia, and Europe. This was the first time the annual international software conference was held in Canada, and many of the delegates had never been to the country before.
After the success of the James Bond inspired inaugural gala for the Toronto International Film Festival our team was excited to produce the second annual fundraiser in 2013.
The goal was to design an elegant experience “Celebrating 100 Years of Indian Cinema.” From Bond to Bollywood!
What was scheduled in Austin TX to be a 4 day in-person conference with over 70 educational sessions and 3 social celebrations turned into a 10-day virtual series, with 2 educational sessions per day and 3 interactive social events.
Since 2011 we have created a unique audience experience while representing the chosen host cities for the Juno Awards. This celebration of Canadian music is a tightly scheduled gala and awards program with multiple stages featuring brilliant Canadian talent.
Distinctive Collection’s top clients were invited to an exclusive grand opening and product showcase of the luxury car dealership. The objective of the event was to officially open the new dealership and showcase the available car brands which included Bentley, Aston Martin and Spyker. The grand opening dinner was an opportunity to see the new showrooms and experience the cars firsthand.
To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of WestJet the team created a series of live experiences, over multiple waves, to highlight how the choices of each WestJetter makes an impact. These events featured interactive installations, collaborative workshops alongside engaging and poignant performances focused on individual choice, outlook and impact.
The only thing that mattered more to our client than the launch of the newest member of the Porsche family, the 2012 911 Carrera S, was the celebration of its place in history.
LIMITLESS is more than a gala. LIMITLESS is a word that empowers people to realize that anything is possible, no matter what obstacles or challenges they are faced with. 750 guests gathered at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel to meet, converse with, raise money and celebrate Canada’s Special Olympic athletes.
The Indigenous Tourism Alberta (ITA) Virtual/Hybrid Summit took place on November 3rd and 4th, with the purpose to highlight the social and economic benefits of Indigenous tourism in Alberta, teach tourism industry partners how to work with Indigenous communities, and educate stakeholders on how to tell the Indigenous story and market these experiences to domestic and international travellers.
STARS saves lives on a regular basis by getting paramedics to people in crisis situations as quickly as possible. The same flight of helicopters had been performing this task for STARS for the last 36 years, but in 2019, the decision was made to renew the fleet.

To celebrate its 50th anniversary of the internationally recognized and iconic symbol of the city, the Calgary Tower engaged us to help them throw a block party exactly 50 years to the date on June 30, 2018.
We had the distinct pleasure of producing the inaugural De Beers Time to Shine Gala for the VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation. This black-tie event was a unique opportunity event designed to target a new audience of philanthropic guests.
Morrison Homes was turning 50 and needed a celebration that represented who they were when they started and where they were going in the future, Morrison style. We were engaged to create an experience that honoured their family, the company, their partners and their clients, always focussing on Customers First.
For 29 years, Teddy has travelled the world. He’s been to London and sipped tea with the Queen, he’s lived “la dolce vita” in Rome and he’s suntanned on the beaches of California. In 2015, Teddy came home. Over 800 guests gathered for a celebration rooted in the cause itself.
Black & White Christmas in the City was a corporate holiday dinner reception for 2,600 guests. The goal was to produce a festive urban reception that allowed for the companies broad range of guests to eat plenty of food and find comfort zones to rest and play within.
e=mc² events created an intimate event with exceptional decor and made great use of the venue’s space (aka the car garage). We designed a custom stage in line with Acura guidelines that served both as a platform for speeches from Acura Canada, as well as Gregor Robertson, Mayor of Vancouver and Riaz Menhji, our honourable emcee for the evening. Later in the program, the guests saw The Colin James Duo take the stage and put on an acoustic performance for the local crowd.
This wonderful family business asked us to produce an event for them that not only celebrated their 50 years in business, but honoured their family, their employees and their work. Their tag-line “built to last” was a catalyst for our creative strategy and each ensuing touchpoint for our client and their guests.
What mattered each year for this client was to host an untraditionally themed event during the Christmas season for 400 of their clients. Details, details and more details, all the while keeping it classy and sophisticated.
Every year W. Brett Wilson throws a party to bring together his closest friends, not to celebrate him but to raise money for the City’s deserving causes. In 2015 over $400,000 was raised in one garden, in one night.
